London Pulse and Metro Blind Sport Announce Partnership

Partnership to promote access to Netball in London for the blind and visually impaired.
London Pulse, London’s only Vitality Netball Superleague Club, is delighted to announce a close working partnership with Metro Blind Sport. This partnership is designed to open up access to netball for those living and working in London that are visually impaired or blind.

Two key initiatives supported by this partnership are:

(1) The provision of FREE access to London Pulse home matches for visually impaired/blind fans to enjoy netball with the support of audio description and trained volunteer support.

(2) Netball skills sessions in London with our London Pulse Community Lead Lisa Brown. Lisa will have completed visual awareness training and completed an online training module run by British Blind Sport. Pulse volunteers will also have training to enable them to attend the sessions and to understand how best to support the athletes attending.

Further details on how to access these sessions will be announced shortly. Anyone interested in booking tickets for a home game with visual impairment can email your details to lisa.brown@londonpulsenetball.com and she will contact you.

Sam Bird, CEO and Director of Netball, London Pulse said:

“This is an initiative that I’m truly excited about. Those of us that love netball, want to give the opportunity to as many people as possible to watch and enjoy our game as well. We are grateful to Martin Symcox from Metro Blind Sport and the British Blind Society for taking the time to work with us to make this happen.”

Martin Symcox, CEO, Metro Blind Sport said:

“Having the opportunity to work with London’s Vitality Netball Superleague Club provides our blind and partially sighted members with a fantastic opportunity to immerse themselves in the game of netball as a participant and fan. We are grateful to London Pulse for working alongside us to provide inclusive netball pathways and we look forward to working closely with Sam and the team to develop the game.”
