Season Launch Video

January 31st, 2020

London Pulse are pleased to confirm the appointment of MATTA to create a season launch video to help bolster the London-based outfit’s existing fanbase and attract a new wave of fans – establishing Pulse as the women’s sport team of the UK capital.

Playing out of the Olympic Park’s Copper Box Arena, Pulse aims to improve on last season’s tenth-place Vitality NSL finish. To launch the team’s 2020 campaign, MATTA has produced a film for use across paid and organic media that draws upon the excitement Vitality NSL fixtures possess and amplifies the team’s core values and purpose.

Natalie Seaton, London Pulse CEO, said: “Being the only top tier team based in London, we want to achieve a world class netball team that reflects all of our communities. Appointing an award-winning agency to creatively launch our season shows the strides we’re taking to attract fans and sponsors to Pulse.

“MATTA has an impressive portfolio of creating inspirational campaigns that engage existing and new audiences, so it’s been great to work with those at the agency and feed into the strategic and creative process. The finished product perfectly embodies the London Pulse brand and gives fans a taster of what to expect at the Copper Box Arena this season.”

Lucy Rickett, MATTA Junior Brand and Strategy Manager, said: “This is our first-ever netball appointment at MATTA, and with an office full of netball fans and players, there has been a huge amount of enthusiasm for the project from the off.

“We wanted to create a hero film that is full of energy to provoke an emotional response amongst viewers. It’s packed with quick feet, killer combos and jaw-dropping plays – highlighting the quality of netball played in the Vitality NSL week in, week out. It expresses that Pulse is more than a professional sports team – it’s the heartbeat of netball in London, playing out of the city’s Olympic legacy site.”

The film was shown for the first time at Pulse’s 2020 season launch breakfast on the morning of Friday 31 January at The Stratford Hotel, before featuring across the franchise’s digital channels. The launch event will also feature a first look at the team’s new kit for the upcoming season.

London Pulse’s second Vitality NSL season gets underway on 22 February with a trip to Arena Birmingham to face Strathclyde Sirens live on Sky Sports. The team’s first fixture at home will see them host Celtic Dragons at the Copper Box Arena on 9 March.
